As soon as you leave the promenade of Adventure Way behind you, you seamlessly step into the kingdom of Arendelle. Welcome to World of Frozen! The eye-catcher is of course the imposing North Mountain with Queen Elsa's magnificent ice palace, but there is SO much more to discover in this new themed area of Disney Adventure World.
During the exclusive preview days and the official opening weekend, Lander and I scoured this area to the nooks and crannies. In this guide, we share all our tips for the Frozen Ever After attraction, the best view of the new show and tell you all about the new Disney Characters you can meet here!

The atmosphere in Arendelle
What immediately stands out in World of Frozen is the impressive attention to detail. In the picturesque little harbour you will find the cosy Fjord View shop and the beautiful Friendship Fountain. Disney plays nicely into the experience here: you can gently hear the seagulls calling in the background, which completes the harbour feel. Tip from us: pay close attention when walking near the lighthouse, because chances are you will spot Bruni somewhere among the rocks!
Further on, the Arendelle Boutique, the entrance for the Meet & Greet with Anna and Elsa, and Arendelle's stately castle. The beating heart of the village is the huge clock tower above the entrance to Frozen Ever After. Don't forget to look up, because this clock really works and rings every hour!
Another general tip: World of Frozen is definitely worth a visit in the evening too. As soon as the sun sets, the entire land, the Friendship Fountain, Arendelle Castle and the impressive Ice Palace are beautifully illuminated. This creates an incredibly magical and romantic atmosphere!

Frozen Ever After: An attraction full of surprises
The absolute headliner of World of Frozen is, of course, the darkride Frozen Ever After. Through the atmospheric clock tower, you walk into the queue, which is really beautifully decorated down to the last detail. When the ride is about to start and you hear the royal announcement “Oyez, Oyez” reverberate, the atmosphere is right there! For Disneyland Paris, this is a very welcome and great addition to the attraction line-up.
What to expect. (Spoiler alert!) The ride, which alternates between English and French, begins in a beautiful snowy ice forest where Olaf sings to you with the song ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman?’. After a scene with Grandpappy Troll, a lift hill takes you to the ice palace where an impressive animatronic of Elsa sings the famous ‘Let It Go’, complete with magical snow effects.

And then comes the big surprise: Elsa uses her magical powers to literally push your little boat backwards! You sail backwards into a misty cave, where you come face to face with the giant snow monster Marshmallow and dozens of little Snowgies. Right after that, there is an unexpected drop down (which includes an on-ride photo). Both Lander and I saw this drop coming, but we were really surprised by how steep it was! Trust us: you can definitely get wet in this one. The ride ends festively in Arendelle with fireworks, instrumental music AND a final, happy greeting from Anna, Elsa and Olaf.
Looking at it with hugely critical eyes, we did notice that budget-friendly choices were made here and there. For instance, Lander noticed that the physical separation between the water and the set (the fairway) is quite high and clearly visible. In a darkride like Pirates of the Caribbean, the water line flows much more naturally into the sets, and the ice palace during the climb up here feels more like a flat set piece. But don't let that spoil the fun at all, it is and remains a fantastic addition!
Helpful tips on waiting time
As the attraction is still brand new, it occasionally suffers from technical glitches. If it breaks down, it can sometimes take a while for the ride to restart. Is the regular queue very long? Then opt for the Single Rider queue. We did this on a busy afternoon and were ready to board in barely 10 minutes!

Entertainment: A Celebration in Arendelle
Several times a day, you can enjoy the brand new show ‘A Celebration in Arendelle’ in the little harbour. During this 15-minute show around the Snow Flower Festival, you will see how Olaf and Kristoff are the first to arrive by boat. They try to get everything in terms of decoration ready before Anna and Elsa arrive. Olaf's humour and comments are guaranteed to put a smile on your face in the process! At the end of the show, Anna and Elsa join in, after which Elsa opens the festival spectacularly with her magical powers, complete with beautiful fountains and fireworks on the water.
Our golden tip for the show: Make sure you are ready at the little harbour really well in advance, preferably near the lighthouse. Unlike the big lake (Adventure Bay), Arendelle's harbour does not have different height levels. If you stand on the third or fourth row, you quickly miss much of the action on the boats, especially if people in front of you take their children on their necks.
Another nice detail: Did you know that the version of the show depends on the weather? If it is windy, Olaf is played by a puppeteer (similar to the show ‘Mickey and the Magician’). Are the weather conditions perfect? Then you will see an insanely handsome animatronic of Olaf on the boat!

Encounters with Disney Characters
World of Frozen is really buzzing with life. Besides the attraction and show, you can have fantastic interactions here thanks to the famous roaming characters and the many locals of Arendelle. In fact, you can have your picture taken with the friendly villagers walking through the streets or just have a nice chat!
Roaming characters: Mossie & Oaken
These Disney Figures do not stand in one fixed spot, but stroll cozily through the streets. Our absolute favourite? Mossie! This baby troll is carried around in the arm of her nari (her caretaker) and chats endlessly. She is super curious about where you come from and is all about photos and selfies.
In addition, you will also regularly Oaken against. He takes time for a cheerful chat with bystanders. What we liked about this is that after a while, both Mossie and Oaken clearly indicate that they are walking on. This prevents them from creating a huge crowd and throughout the day everyone gets a chance to greet them briefly.

Meet & greet with Anna and Elsa
Of course, in Arendelle you can also have your picture taken with Queen Elsa and Anna. This exclusive meeting will take place inside Arendelle's beautiful castle. Note: you always need a reservation for this via the official Disneyland Paris app. Reservations can be made on certain time slots, although this offer varies from day to day. So be there early on your smartphone!
During very busy days, Disneyland Paris operates a separate queue to enter the World of Frozen themed section at all, purely to avoid saturation in the themed area. But good news: have you managed to book a Meet & Greet via the app? Then you are guaranteed entry at your reserved time, despite the possible queue at the entrance!

Food and drink: Nordic Crown Tavern
Are you ready for a hearty meal after all your adventures? At World of Frozen you'll find the counter service restaurant Nordic Crown Tavern. The decor is beautiful, with family portraits of Anna and Elsa, and if you look closely at the window above the entrance, you may even see a grey cat squeaking at times.
We ate here several times during our days. Wondering what we thought of the salmon, the meatballs and the changing dessert offerings? You can read about it in our complete food guide!

A magical expansion
Disney has added a beautiful and detailed piece of magic to Disneyland Paris with World of Frozen. Although we secretly hope another attraction will be added to Arendelle in the future (like in Hong Kong), we are incredibly impressed by the atmosphere, finish and innovative entertainment. An absolute must-do during your next visit to Disney Adventure World!
